Time-to-API Integration: Running and Troubleshooting
A step-by-step for how to run the Time-to-API/Time-to-isolved integration with Bullhorn One and troubleshoot pay data errors.
Importing Pay Data Using the Time-to-API Integration
The four steps below outline the process for importing data from Bullhorn One's Payable Charges table to isolved via the Time-to-API integration.
The middle two steps are labelled Optional/Recommended because they involve the integration's Pending Batch display, which is an optional feature that allows for more flexible data management within API Handshake. It should be noted that, if the Pending Batch display is deactivated, any critical errors encountered will still prevent the data from making it to isolved, so the user will still need to identify and troubleshoot any errors from Bullhorn.
- Select and Export: Select Payable Charges from Bullhorn and export them using the Payroll Export dropdown. Use whichever dropdown option has been linked to the integration (usually, this will be Payroll Export).

-
Open Pending Batch (Optional/Recommended): Navigate to API Handshake (apihandshake.com) and log in using your Client User Account credentials. Then, open Time Batches using the Reports dropdown on the Connections tab.
- Process Pending Batch (Optional/Recommended): The exported batch should be listed as Pending - Ready to Process. Click the blue Process dropdown and select Regular or Special. The batch should move to Processed Batches. It will turn red if isolved encountered errors in the data (see below for troubleshooting steps).

- Integrated!: Within a few minutes, isolved should receive the payroll data, which should be visible from isolved's Time Entry Grid (Payroll Processing > Payroll Entry > Time Entry Grid). The payroll can now be processed in isolved.
Troubleshooting Payroll Data Errors on the Time-to-API Integration
When isolved receives pay data from Bullhorn that it cannot accept, such as an employee that doesn't exist, the entire batch will be prevented from transferring to isolved. To indicate this, the Processed Batch in API Handshake will turn red, the payable charge status in Bullhorn will become Export Error, and Bullhorn will create a record on the Issues menu if it is in use:

To resolve the error --
- Check the Error Details: Click the Actions dropdown and select Validation Details. This will download an Excel document denoting problematic rows and the associated errors.

- Identify and Mark Resolved: Click Go to Details on the Actions dropdown to view the list of transactions. The failed Payable Charges will display a Status of Failed. Once identified, select any failed Payable Charges and click Resolve/Unresolve.

- Correct and Re-Send: Make any necessary changes to the Payable Charge in Bullhorn, change the Payable Charge’s status back to Ready to Pay, and repeat the charge’s export. You may also mark the Issue as Resolved from the Bullhorn Issues menu.
